My Cheese has Moved!!!

Last week I attended a mandatory meeting at work with a theme entitled Who Moved my Cheese. CHANGE was the topic of the class as there are A LOT of changes occurring...the partnership with Mayo and in our order entry process...SO I leave trying to be open minded to changes occurring at WORK!!! As we all know God has a sense of humor though and when I got home Hopey let me know that the school called requesting her to come for an interview MONDAY!!!...and she desires to further her education. Deep down I knew this day would come and I should have prepared for it, but I didn't & HOLY MOLY I'm scheduled to work Monday and Tuesday nights....and many more on this schedule! So change was not occurring only at SRMC but in the Bates household as well! What the full picture will look like I don't know, but my Big Daddy does and from the very beginning He was right there with me. I never did really get my feathers ruffled but simply said Lord I know you have a plan and even ...

Sweetest Baby Girl in the Whole Wide World!!!

Is this not the sweetest thing you've ever seen in your whole life.  Y'all really....if only you knew!!  She was ready for cousin Daylee's Minnie Mouse tutu and pearls first birthday celebration, but Daddy ended up making it home from the union meeting and a week of working out of town in Milledgeville before we made the party.  She was excited to be dressed up with her necklace and shiney shoes on anyway though!!  She LOVES shoes!!!!!  When we first got these new shoes she'd walk looking down, stop & lean over,  look long and hard at the shoes, and then stand up and start clapping and grinning oh so big!!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE having a little girl and am oh so thankful the Lord saw fit to give her to me!!!  She just loves!  She gives me piles of kisses right in the smacker, hugs (and pats my back as she does), and even plays with my hair!  She likes to have staring contest too.  When she gets tired of staring she just grins he...

Pillow Talk

I have found that some of life's deepest, most meaningful discussions happen with our head on our pillows at the Bates home.  I love how the Lord reminds me of His promises and teaches me as I teach them and explain spiritual things to my babies!  You know it's good stuff when the anointing flows through mommy and she's sharing passionatley with her babies ;)  They get SO excited b/c they hear it in my voice and feel the presence of God!!!  Tonight we were reminded that God's Spirit lives IN us...we are God's children...we do NOT have to be afraid of the devil...he tells nothing but lies and TREMBLES just at the NAME of JESUS!  How much more is he afraid of us when we know & recognize that God is IN us...GOD'S POWER lives IN ME!  When I give myself over to Jesus and resist the devil he FLEES or runs away trembling like a little school girl (they really liked that part)...not only that but when we Praise God He inhabits that PRAISE.  If I inhabit so...

Late Night Entertainer

We spent a weekend with Nanny & Papa a couple of weeks ago as I was on call & HB was working graveyard...Papa, Cash, and Granny MaryAnn were sleeping and Mia was wide open & delirious. All she wanted was to play the piano at full blast!  Is that too much to ask?? ;) Hayes just needed a few moments in the lime light TOO!!  I know one day I will MISS THIS!!!

Hayes' description of the first day of 1st grade was "it was AWESOME...it was like the best day EVER!" so as I was leaving for work I snapped a few picks of Hayes, Cash, and Brent (our neighbor) celebrating completion of the best day EVER ;)
